According to reports shared by Babak Taghvaee on X, Iran has taken delivery of five used Boeing 777-268ER passenger aircraft, aged about 27 to 29 years, previously owned by Saudi Arabia. The planes were transferred through ECT Aviation Support in the United Arab Emirates with the assistance of Emirati authorities and handed over to Mahan Air. Mahan Air plans to sell the aircraft to another Iranian airline that has financed the purchase. Saudi Arabia's national airline issued a statement saying the jets were sold to an overseas company in 2023 and that Saudi authorities have had no operational or commercial involvement with them since the transfer of ownership.
