The Royal Navy's Special Boat Service (SBS) has prohibited the use of Chinese‑manufactured electric vehicles at its base in Dorset. The ban was imposed over security concerns that the cars' sensors, cameras and data‑collection systems could be exploited for espionage against military facilities. British security officials warned that location and environmental data gathered by the vehicles might be accessed by Beijing. The move reflects growing Western anxiety about the security risks posed by connected Chinese electric cars.
