The U.S. Navy conducted the final operational flights of the C‑2A Greyhound transport aircraft on June 25, completing its long‑standing role of ferrying personnel and equipment to aircraft carriers. Two Greyhounds performed the last landing and takeoff on the USS Nimitz (CVN‑68), marking the end of the aircraft’s service that began in the 1960s.

The CMV‑22B Osprey will now replace the Greyhound for these missions, handling the transfer of crew, spare parts, engines, and other gear to carrier decks.
