Iraqi Abrams Tanks Use Thermal Cameras to Target ISIS in Mosul

An archival footage shows Iraqi Army Abrams M1A1M tanks during the liberation of Mosul province from ISIS. The crews employed second‑generation FLIR thermal cameras, enabling them to identify insurgents from distances of about 1.5 km and even up to 4 km, and then engage them with high‑accuracy computer‑controlled fire control systems.
