President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia fired more than 70 missiles, about half of them ballistic, and roughly 500 attack drones, including jet‑powered models, toward Ukraine. The main focus of the strikes was Kyiv, where 13 people were killed and over 90 injured. Damage was recorded at more than 20 sites in the capital, including residential buildings, an ambulance station, a scientific institute, a hotel and commercial centres, while other towns such as Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Cherkasy were also hit. Zelensky stressed that air defence remains "absolutely vital" and urged faster Western support for Patriot systems and anti‑ballistic cooperation.
