US crude and petroleum product output rose by 254,000 barrels per day in April, reaching a record 21.84 million barrels per day. Compared with the same period last year, total production grew by 1.01 million barrels per day, a 4.9% increase. Crude output alone climbed 216,000 barrels per day to a record 13.93 million barrels per day. Since the 2008 global financial crisis, overall US oil and petroleum product production has quadrupled, with crude production up 250% over the same period. The data show that US oil output continues to set new records.
