Private‑sector openings climbed 2,000 to 6.8 million, the highest since March 2024, after a 635‑k rise in April.

The job‑to‑unemployed ratio climbed to 1.0, the highest since January 2025, with 287,000 more openings than unemployed people, the largest gap since January 2025.
