China’s next-generation aircraft carrier, designated 004, is reported to be 25% complete, with a projected hull length of 286 m and a width of 46 m, according to images released in May 2026. The dimensions are noticeably larger than those of the Fujian‑class carriers, including the 003.
Separately, China’s new 155‑mm naval gun has begun ground testing in 2025, with sea trials slated to start in 2026 on the floating platform Type 910. The program is being developed by Norinco, and sources estimate the gun’s total weight at roughly 21.8–22 t.
