A member of Iran’s Guardian Council’s Shura, Ayatollah Mardasi Yazdi, warned that opening the global internet without thorough expert assessment is dangerous. He argued that such a move could expose the economy, employment security, commercial contracts, key state institutions, and personal safety to potential attacks, especially from the US and Israel. The cleric urged that decisions be made through legal and religious channels, avoiding arbitrary or parallel actions that could widen network vulnerabilities and facilitate future disruptions.
