Russian and Ukrainian media report that the MiG design bureau is effectively losing its autonomy as it merges with the Sukhoi design bureau into a new entity called OKB OTA. About 25% of MiG staff have already received lay‑off notices, with another 25% slated for cuts by year‑end, and only roughly 500 employees are expected to remain in the new structure, compared with Sukhoi’s workforce of over 3,000. The reports also say that Rostec plans to hand over the MiG design office site in Moscow to the construction group PIK for residential development.
