The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the joint statement issued by the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council, calling its positions "interventionist, irresponsible and provocative." It says that the presence of U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf is a source of insecurity and division in the region. The ministry added that ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz will be governed by the terms of the cease‑fire agreement with Oman. It also holds the United States, Israel and other regional countries that participated in attacks against Iran responsible for the instability in the Strait of Hormuz.
