Three merchant ships attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz were ordered by Iran's Revolutionary Guard to return to their berths after failing to follow the prescribed Iranian side of the passage. The Guard said the vessels did not comply with the navigation instructions and were instructed to turn back.
