Reports indicate that anti-Hezbollah forces in Lebanon are highly dissatisfied with Donald Trump's stance on the Swiss-mediated US‑Iran memorandum of understanding, which also involves Lebanon. Supporters of Hezbollah hail the agreement as a victory that restores Iranian influence and stabilises the cease‑fire, while opponents argue it strengthens the group and undermines efforts to weaken or disarm it. A Lebanese politician told a local channel that the deal embarrasses President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati, both of whom previously advocated dialogue with Israel and curbing Hezbollah's power. He added that his faction hopes the memorandum remains temporary, warning that a permanent accord could be disastrous and allow Iran to further entrench its influence in Lebanon.
