According to the Wall Street Journal, former President Donald Trump will meet senior Pentagon officials and executives of major U.S. defense firms this week to accelerate the production of missiles and ammunition. The move follows pressure on U.S. arms stocks during the ongoing conflict with Iran.
The Pentagon has already reached preliminary agreements with companies such as Lockheed Martin, RTX, Boeing, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman and Honeywell to boost output of Patriot interceptors and Tomahawk cruise missiles. However, a substantial portion of the expansion plan remains unfunded, and full implementation depends on budget negotiations in Washington.
