Hezbollah political council member Hajj Wafiq Safa said that Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah could not bear the Beijer massacre despite the party’s 40‑year history. Safa claimed Nasrallah watched videos of the explosions, abstained from food and drink for more than 24 hours, and tried to console others while expressing his own anguish, saying, "God, comfort me."
