The Israeli army says its troops captured a large underground facility belonging to Hezbollah in the Majdal Zoon area of southern Lebanon, roughly 10 km from the Israeli border. Israeli officials claim the site, built with Iranian financial and technical support over several years, was used to assemble, store and launch suicide drones.
According to the report, the complex is situated about 29 metres beneath a hill and includes several hundred‑metre tunnels, blast‑proof doors and hidden launch pads. Israeli forces say they found around 50 suicide drones equipped with 30‑kilogram warheads and about eight tonnes of explosives.
The army asserts the drones are of Iranian design with a range of 200–500 km, capable of striking various parts of Israel. It added this is the first time intact examples of the drones have been seized, and they will be examined for technical intelligence.
