Finland is strengthening the strike capability of its future F‑35 fleet by purchasing the GBU‑53/B StormBreaker (SDB II) precision guided bomb from the United States. The weapon can engage targets in adverse weather at ranges over 100 km and allows an F‑35 to carry multiple bombs simultaneously. The deal, part of a program to equip 64 F‑35 aircraft, includes munitions, spare parts, training, technical support and maintenance services, enhancing NATO’s air‑to‑ground power in northern Europe near Russia's border.
