The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects that global oil demand will fall by about 1.1 million barrels per day in 2026 as a result of the war involving Iran, a revision sharply higher than its earlier estimate of a 420,000‑barrel decline. The agency also expects global oil supply to decrease by 3.9 million barrels per day in 2026, unchanged from its previous forecast.
