The U.S. Army has introduced a new targeting system for the long‑used Browning M2 heavy machine gun, marking the first modern sight for the weapon after decades of service. The M155 MMO sight, designed for 12.7 mm M2 and M2A1 guns, offers a 1× open view and 3–4× magnification, allowing shooters to quickly identify and engage targets at both close and long ranges while maintaining situational awareness. According to the Army, the system improves first‑shot hit probability to 80‑85 percent, a significant upgrade for a weapon in service since 1933. The new camera module mounts on the BOARS‑M2 rail and can be detached and reinstalled rapidly without losing zero settings.
