Norwegian defense company Kongsberg announced that Canada has become the sixth country to purchase its Joint Strike Missile (JSM). The missile will be integrated into the Royal Canadian Air Force’s F‑35A fleet, enhancing the aircraft’s long‑range strike and anti‑ship capabilities.

Prior customers include Norway, Japan, Australia, the United States and Germany. The JSM is specifically designed for internal carriage within the F‑35, preserving the aircraft’s stealth profile.

The deal is part of Canada’s broader effort to upgrade its future fighter aircraft’s offensive and anti‑ship reach.
