UK MoD Confirms Russian Warship Fired Warning Shot Near Isle of Wight

The British Ministry of Defence confirmed an incident involving a Russian warship in the English Channel. A UK leisure boat reported that the Russian vessel fired a warning shot from about 500 yards, roughly 20 miles south of the Isle of Wight and outside British territorial waters. No injuries or damage were reported, and the event is being treated as a separate incident. At the time, the Royal Navy frigate HMS Mersey was monitoring the Russian ship.
