Reports from the Eurosatory 2026 exhibition indicate that Belgian company Jan Kokril has signed a contract to deliver 30 advanced C3105 turrets to Ukraine for installation on Leopard 1 tanks. The first Leopard 1 equipped with a C3105 turret has been undergoing field trials in Ukraine since 2025, with results described as satisfactory. The unmanned C3105 turret features a high‑pressure 105 mm gun, an automatic loading system and modern optics, allowing long‑range target detection and engagement. It is about three tonnes lighter than the original Leopard 1 turret while retaining NATO‑standard 105 mm ammunition, significantly boosting the combat capability of the older tanks. If finalized, the upgraded Leopard 1s would become a modern fire‑support platform better suited to battlefields saturated with contemporary drones.
