U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces completed a new round of strikes against Iran on July 7, targeting more than 80 objectives with precision-guided munitions. The attacks were conducted in immediate response to Iran's recent assaults on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and over 60 IRGC speedboats in the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding areas. CENTCOM also alleged that Iran recently targeted three commercial ships: the tanker Al Rekayyat flying the Marshall Islands flag, the tanker Wedyan flying the Saudi Arabian flag, and the vessel Cyprus Prosperity flying the Liberian flag. The statement described Iran's actions as a blatant and dangerous violation of the ceasefire and a threat to freedom of navigation, adding that U.S. forces remain ready to hold Iran accountable for any breach of agreements.
