Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters issued a statement saying the unprecedented popular participation in the funeral of the martyr leader of the Islamic nation constituted a humiliating defeat for global arrogance and the criminal United States. The American military, which Iran labels as "terrorist," carried out strikes on areas south of Iran without honoring any commitments, while the pure remains of the martyr leader were visiting Iraqi officials and people. Tehran described the attacks as "flagrant aggression." The statement warned that Iran's armed forces will respond forcefully to what it called American aggression and terrorism, and will under no circumstances allow any interference in the affairs or navigation management of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran also reiterated that the only safe passage for commercial ships and oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz is the route determined by the Islamic Republic.
