A senior official in the Trump administration told the Wall Street Journal that a forthcoming agreement with Iran is expected to be less restrictive than the 2015 nuclear deal negotiated under President Obama. The official added that Iran is aware the United States has no desire to return to war, which could increase Tehran's willingness to once again threaten to close the Strait of Hormuz as a diplomatic lever.
