The wars that followed October 7, accompanied by promises of a “total victory,” have ended, as have the delusions surrounding them. Palestinians are not expected to leave Gaza, and Hamas and Hezbollah will not be disarmed. Donald Trump is not set to resume a war with Iran, which could now threaten to exit the nuclear agreement to force Trump to halt any large‑scale Israeli operations against Hamas or Hezbollah.

The threats have not vanished and the adversaries remain unbeaten. Israel will continue to face the same enemies, and regardless of what Trump or future U.S. presidents say, it will eventually have to fight them.
