Seven NATO member countries — Belgium, Croatia, France, Poland, Spain, Turkey, and Britain — announced the creation of a joint fleet of A400M Atlas strategic transport aircraft. Under this plan, the countries will jointly purchase and operate additional aircraft alongside their existing national A400M fleets. The initiative aims to reduce operational costs and provide smaller nations access to strategic airlift capabilities. This cooperative model has previously been successfully implemented with NATO's joint A330 MRTT tanker fleet, where member states pool resources instead of maintaining independent expensive equipment. The exact number of aircraft to be included in the joint A400M fleet has not yet been announced. The A400M Atlas, manufactured by the European Airbus consortium, is one of the world's most advanced military transport aircraft, capable of carrying troops, heavy equipment, armored vehicles, conducting airborne operations, and flying in harsh conditions.
