The UK Ministry of Defence announced that nine retired SEPECAT Jaguar fighters – five GR1s and four T2s – have been transferred to the Indian Air Force to supply spare parts. The aircraft, which were withdrawn from UK service in 2007, will not fly again but will provide engines, avionics, landing gear and hydraulic systems to keep India’s Jaguar fleet operational until its phased retirement in the 2030s. The UK still holds 42 retired Jaguars mainly for ground training purposes.
