France successfully launched its first FLP‑T ballistic missile, a 150‑kilometre range, from a mobile X‑Fire launcher developed by ArianeGroup. The guided missile is part of France’s effort to restore long‑range ground strike capability. According to ArianeGroup, the FLP‑T can accurately target objectives within 150 kilometres and will serve as the foundation for a new B‑Strike family of ballistic missiles, whose range could grow to 2,500 kilometres. The system was developed in under 18 months, drawing on technologies from the M51 missile and Ariane space launchers, and the X‑Fire launcher is designed for rapid launch and relocation to enhance battlefield survivability.

The project reflects France’s push to reduce reliance on foreign systems and strengthen precision long‑range strike power for future conflicts.
