Washington, D.C., will stage one of the largest aerial displays in U.S. history to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. The seven‑hour spectacle will feature dozens of aircraft from the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, as well as NASA and allied air forces. Planned participants include B‑2, B‑1 and B‑52 bombers, F‑22, F‑35, F‑15E, F‑15EX, F‑16 and E‑10 fighters, AC‑130J and MC‑130J special‑mission planes, CV‑22 Osprey, Apache, Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters, NASA test aircraft such as the F‑5, the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds demonstration teams, and a fleet of transport, refueling and VIP aircraft including the VC‑25B presidential plane.
