On July 3, 2026, Yemeni forces intercepted a Saudi formation that attempted to block an Iranian civilian aircraft carrying over 200 passengers from landing at Sana'a International Airport. The attempt failed after Yemeni air defense missiles forced the Saudi aircraft to leave the airspace. Yemeni officials warned the Saudi enemy that any further attempts to breach Yemeni airspace or attack the country will be met with comprehensive retaliation targeting Saudi airports and vital facilities on land and sea. They also called for ending the long‑standing siege and praised Iran’s role in lifting the blockade.
