The National Liberation Army of Western Papua (TPNPB) reported that it shot an American pilot dead and set his aircraft on fire after the plane landed in Yaukimu, Papua. The group said it targeted the aircraft because it was allegedly being used to transport Indonesian military personnel. The plane was carrying seven people in total.
