The British Ministry of Defence says Russia is expected to cancel the main "Navy Day" parade in St Petersburg for a second consecutive year due to security concerns. The event, held annually from 2017 to 2024 with President Vladimir Putin and a flotilla of Russian warships in the Baltic Sea, was scaled back in 2024 and fully cancelled for 2025. British officials cite the ongoing threat of Ukrainian drone attacks, referencing a successful Ukrainian drone strike on the Russian frigate "Bouk" in the dry dock at Kronstadt on 3 June 2026. Instead of the traditional parade, Russia may stage a naval exercise similar to the "July 2025 Storm" drills.
