Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said the U.S. policy of not selling weapons to Turkey while selling to non‑NATO countries is illogical. He added that there is no bilateral issue that could cause irreparable tension between Turkey and the U.S. Both President Erdogan and former President Trump are committed to lifting CAATSA sanctions, and the matter should be resolved. The lifting of the ban on F‑35 fighter sales to Turkey is expected after the CAATSA sanctions are removed.
Fidan described Israel as a destabilizing factor in the region, blaming it for violence and crises in various areas. He said American politicians support Israel only when it aligns with their interests, and the current regime is harming U.S. interests. He also spoke of rising anti‑Israel sentiment worldwide, from universities to media, attributing it to Israeli actions. Fidan said Israel is seeking a new enemy and that Turkey would not retreat if its interests are threatened.
