A German company has presented a concept that attaches interceptor drones beneath the wings of passenger aircraft, allowing the aircraft to approach suicide drones at speed. The inexpensive interceptor drones are equipped with four electric motors, an AI‑enabled camera for detection and engagement, and can be launched to neutralize incoming threats. Images show a passenger plane fitted with 70‑mm laser‑guided rockets and the wing‑mounted interceptor drones. The firm previously demonstrated the same system on an Airbus H175 helicopter.
