The fourth Tu-22M3 strategic bomber has been lost within the past two years because of technical defects. The incidents occurred on April 19, 2024, in the Stauropol region; August 15, 2024, in the Irkutsk area; April 2, 2025, also in Irkutsk; and June 15, 2026, again in Irkutsk. Intensive use during combat operations combined with the aircraft's aging has led to repeated technical problems, resulting in non-combat losses of these bombers.
