According to Reuters, Swedish defense company Saab has officially signed a contract to supply 16 Gripen E fighter jets to Ukraine. The deal, valued at about 24.6 billion Swedish krona (roughly 2.54 billion dollars), also covers spare parts, equipment and technical support. The order is slated to be registered in Saab’s financial offices in the third quarter of 2026, with delivery of the aircraft scheduled for 2029‑2030.
