US Job Openings Rise, Consumer Confidence Holds

U.S. job openings (JOLTS) were reported at 7.594 million, above the 7.3 million forecast but slightly below the previous 7.618 million. The Consumer Confidence Index for the month, as measured by the Conference Board, was expected to be 94.7 and the previous reading was 93.1.
