The European Union has announced new steel measures that will apply a 50% tariff to imports that exceed the quota for 26 groups of steel products. The quota for tariff‑free imports is set at 18.3 million tonnes per year. This move is aimed at protecting the EU steel industry from overcapacity and unfair competition.
