The Chairman of Lebanon’s House of Representatives has stated that the country will not ratify the Washington agreement between Lebanon and Israel in its current form. He argues that the agreement is self‑contradictory and cannot be implemented. According to him, the majority of Lebanese and non‑Lebanese oppose the deal and there are no conditions for its success. He suggests that Lebanon should instead rely on the U.S.–Iran agreement concerning Lebanon.
