India and the United Kingdom have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on the supply of spare parts, logistical coordination, and technical resource exchange for the Jaguar fighter fleet. The deal is significant for India, which operates the world’s largest active Jaguar fleet, while the UK retired its Jaguars in 2007 but retained spares, equipment and technical documentation. India plans to keep upgraded Jaguars in service at least until the early 2030s and is pursuing upgrades to avionics, weapons and internal systems. With production of many Jaguar components discontinued, securing spare parts remains a critical challenge for the Indian Air Force.
