The Israeli army announced that a 21‑year‑old officer, Captain David Hazut, was killed early this morning during a firefight with Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon. Hazut, a commander of the Golani Brigade’s 12th Battalion, was operating near the village of Diresriyan when the confrontation occurred around 2 a.m. An Israeli soldier was lightly wounded and transported to a hospital, with the family notified.
