Ukraine has introduced the new DART missile, designed to launch from high‑altitude balloons for long‑range strikes. After release, the missile is initially guided by satellite navigation and then, once the guidance system is shut off, its solid‑fuel motor propels it along a pre‑determined path toward the target, a method that reduces the effectiveness of electronic warfare. Ukrainian sources say the inexpensive balloons not only deceive defensive systems but also significantly extend the operational range of missiles and drones.
