According to research by the Wall Street Journal, the damage inflicted on the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain by Iranian attacks from late February to June is far greater than has been officially reported. Repeated strikes damaged the fleet’s command building, at least ten other structures, and two AN/GSC‑52B satellite‑communications stations. The estimated cost to rebuild the Bahrain base is about $400 million, excluding demolition, structural reinforcement, and equipment replacement. Each destroyed satellite station is valued at roughly $20 million.
