Net inflow of foreign capital into U.S. financial markets reached a new record of $884 billion for the 12‑month period ending April 2026, the highest level ever recorded. Since the start of 2025, the net inflow has nearly tripled, compared with a peak of about $400 billion in 2021.
In April alone, private foreign investors purchased U.S. equities worth a record $763 billion, while institutional investors added $121 billion, more than double the year‑to‑date total.
The data indicate that global demand for U.S. assets has reached an unprecedented level.
