Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, said the United States has never been honest in its dealings with the Iranian people. He noted that despite ample reasons for mistrust, Iran entered diplomatic talks in good faith and signed a memorandum of understanding to end the imposed war. Baghaei warned that the hostile stance of the other side will not end with a single agreement and that Iran will proceed cautiously, drawing on five decades of experience and recent developments. He added that contradictory statements by American officials will only deepen Iranian distrust and remind them of past broken promises, urging the US to honor commitments as stipulated in the memorandum.
