U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas‑Greenfield, said that the recent easing of sanctions on Iran is only a temporary measure intended to facilitate ongoing negotiations. The released Iranian assets will be placed in an escrow account, and Iran will be allowed to purchase surplus American agricultural products as part of the arrangement.
