China has dramatically expanded its fighter jet production capacity in recent years, with estimates of 100 to 150 advanced aircraft built each year. The bulk of this output consists of J-20, J-16 and J-10C models, and some sources place annual J-20 production alone at 50 to 80 units.

The United States manufactures about 140 to 180 F-35 fighters annually, many of which are delivered to foreign customers, while F-15EX production runs at roughly 18 to 24 aircraft per year.

When only jets delivered to domestic armed forces are counted, China and the United States are roughly on par, each receiving around 100 or more new fighters per year. Overall, the United States still leads in total industrial output and exports, though China is rapidly narrowing the gap.
