Multiple media outlets citing informed sources report that General Christopher Donahoe, commander of U.S. Army forces in Europe and Africa, has submitted his retirement request. Donahoe, known as the last American military officer to leave Afghanistan during the chaotic 2021 withdrawal, reportedly had disagreements with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. He previously commanded the Delta Force special operations unit and the 82nd Airborne Division. Sources say he will step down in July.
