The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of 203 JASSM‑ER cruise missiles, each with a range of 926 km, to Denmark for its F‑35A fighter jets. The deal, valued at $824 million, will be executed by Lockheed Martin. Weighing 1,200 kg with a 450‑kg warhead and featuring a combined inertial, GPS, and infrared guidance system, these missiles will give Denmark long‑range strike capability against deep targets. Finland, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan and Australia have already purchased the same missiles for their F‑35 fleets. The acquisition will significantly boost Denmark's offensive power following its order of 16 F‑35As slated for delivery in October 2025.
